“Something can come out of this”: State Duma on Saakashvili’s return to Ukrainian citizenship

Member of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Vladimir Katenev spoke about the return of Ukrainian citizenship to the ex-president of Georgia and the former governor of the Odesa region, Mikhail Saakashvili.

According to the deputy, if the new president of the country, Vladimir Zelensky, manages to use Saakashvili’s potential and energy to achieve peaceful goals, this may yield some results. Saakashvili is a bright and informal but complex person.

“… it often takes him to extremes and it can be difficult with him,” Katenev said.

He added that there is currently no clarity about the quality of Zelensky’s use of it.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky returned to the former president of Georgia and the former governor of the Odesa region Mikhail Saakashvili citizenship of Ukraine.
