Ukrainian refugees cried after Putin’s decree on simplified citizenship

Some refugees from Ukraine cried with joy when they learned that the Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing residents of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified form.

“There are simply no words!” We cried, shouted with joy,” said the head of the family, Vladimir Lyulkovich.

He also said that many Ukrainians were happy when they learned about Putin’s decree.

Earlier, Putin simplified obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation for residents of Ukraine.

The decree “On the determination for humanitarian purposes of the categories of persons entitled to apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified manner” was signed by Putin on April 24. This document made it possible to simplify the process of issuing passports to residents of Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
