The authorities of the Khabarovsk Territory will present to the state award a ten-year-old boy Lesha, who was saving children from a fire in the Camp “Holdomi.”
Local residents made a petition asking to note the feat of Alexei Martynenko, who saved other children during a fire in a camp.
It is noted that by helping the children, Lesha received multiple burns and later died in the hospital.
“If someone, let alone a child, commits a feat like this, he thereby corrects someone’s mistake,” said Sergey Furgal, governor of the Khabarovsk Territory.
The fire in the children’s camp occurred on the night of July 23. As a result of the tragedy, 13 people received various injuries, including eight children, four of whom died.
It was previously reported that a 10-year-old boy was pulling girls out of a burning tent and was in a coma.
