Moldovan President Igor Dodon said Chisinau intends to restore strategic relations with Russia.
As noted, the head of government made such a statement during a meeting with US Rep. Mike Quigley.
According to him, he assured a guest from the United States that Moldova would retain all international agreements, including with the EU.
“At the same time, the Republic of Moldova will seek to restore full-fledged strategic relations with the Russian Federation,” said Dodon.
Relations between Russia and Moldova deteriorated in 2015. Then the Moldovan parliament signed an agreement with the EU, according to which members of the Russian parliament and government could not travel to Moldova. However, in 2019, the ban was lifted.
Earlier it was reported that Moldova plans to discuss gas supplies with Russia.
